What is this? 
Lip Cord/Piping Cord: A twisted, braided or solid tube of material that is attached to a strip of tape for insertion into a seam. Piping can be used for a clean or decorative finish on furniture, pillows, chairs, sofas and on clothing such as trousers, jackets and coats.

Rope Cord: Twisted or braided pieces of material making a tubular shape, also known as rope. Used for belts, handbags, jewelry and tiebacks.
